Dupahiya is an Indian web series set in the tranquil village of Dhadakpur, renowned for its 24-year streak as a crime-free community. The narrative centers on the Jha family, particularly Banwari Jha (Gajraj Rao), who is preparing for his daughter Roshni’s (Shivani Raghuvanshi) wedding. Complications arise when Roshni’s prospective groom, Kuber, demands a Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle as dowry. Despite financial hardships, Banwari manages to acquire the prized bike, only for it to be stolen shortly after, jeopardizing both the wedding plans and the village’s esteemed reputation.
The series unfolds over eight episodes, each marking the countdown to the wedding day. As the Jha family, along with Roshni’s ex-boyfriend Amavas (Bhuvan Arora), embarks on a frantic quest to retrieve the stolen motorcycle, the plot delves into themes of love, societal expectations, and the challenges of upholding tradition in a rapidly changing world. “Dupahiya” masterfully blends humor with poignant social commentary, offering viewers a glimpse into the aspirations and ironies of small-town life.
